Siti’s wedding to cost RM5m?

A WHOPPING RM5mil! That would be the cost to hold the impending wedding reception of pop darling Siti Nurhaliza Tarudin and businessman Datuk Khalid Jiwa at the KL Convention Centre later this month, claimed Kosmo!

Quoting sources that touted it as the ‘Wedding of the Year,’ the tabloid said it would be held on July 29, a much earlier date than previously speculated.

The glitzy guest list, the paper said, included members of royalty and leaders from Malaysia and Indonesia.

Befitting the grand occasion, where red has been chosen by the prospective bride and groom as the theme colour of the event, the couple will ride in a horse-drawn carriage and a dazzling display of fireworks is planned.

Siti Nurhaliza is expected to wear a shimmering bridal gown worth hundreds of thousands of ringgit.

The paper said the KLCC management, the police and City Hall would provide tight security at the venue, where Asean foreign ministers would also have their meeting earlier.

Two large halls at the convention centre have been booked for the wedding.

In another celebrity report, Kosmo! said the popularity of Akademi Fantasia 3 winner Mawi has taken a slight dip after his aborted engagement to long-time sweetheart Nordiana Md Naim or Ina recently.

Maestro Talent Management Sdn Bhd chief executive officer Freddie Fernandez said that Mawi’s overall popularity had not been affected. But he admitted that there was a slight decline.

He said Maestro would not stop Mawi from getting involved with any artiste if he chose to, although this issue had been singled out as one of the reasons for the singer's split with Ina.

Berita Harian reported that nasyid (choral singing in praise of Islam and Prophet Muhammad) might be included as a co-curricular activity in schools as it could be used as an effective medium to instil moral values among students.
