Web 2.0 - you see it mentioned all over the Internet. And it seems like Web 2.0 is the latest buzz word that is battered around in the news, forums, and blogs. Here is the best part. There is no current 100% correct definition of exactly what it is. Everyone seems to have a different take on it, yet we users should know what it is. And you might not even realize that you have been supporting the evolution of Web 2.0.
Wikipedia describes Web 2.0 as:
“Web 2.0 is the business revolution in the computer industry caused by the move to the internet as platform, and an attempt to understand the rules for success on that new platform. Chief among those rules is this: Build applications that harness network effects to get better the more people use them.“.
So there you have it. Simple and concise. And I am sure you understand exactly what this means. :-)
Ron’s definition:
Web 2.0 is basically the use of such things as Wiki’s, like Wikipedia, which allows us users to modify what has been previously posted. And interact with others using websites such as My Space. Or to post videos sharing experiences using websites such as U Tube. And also to develop a completely new persona by using websites such as Second Life. And you throw into the mix, web based applications similar to Google’s My Doc’s, in which the application appears to be running right from the users desktop. Oh……. you need to throw in social networking also.
Like I said. Web 2.0 is still developing, evolving, and refreshing itself almost daily. But now that you have a general understanding of the theory, you can now awe your friends, family, relatives and strangers by using the latest in buzz words, like you know what you are talking about.
Comments welcome.

Top 10 Most Expensive Mobile Phones in the World
Top 10 Most Expensive Mobile Phones in the World
Until recently, the vast majority of mobile phones had been priced between £100 and £300, with only Vertu, a division of Nokia , manufacturing uber-premium phones. With prices starting at around £4,000 Vertu phones are only for the filthy rich, and the super famous.
However, Vertu's monopoly of the luxury phone market is coming to an end with the launch of several new luxury mobile makers, including Gresso, Mobiado and GoldVish. Other mobile phone manufacturers are also partnering with luxury brands to produce a range of premium mobile phones, such as LG and Prada , D&G and Motorola, and now Tag Heuer and Modelabs. Finally, there are the ridiculous, super-expensive one-offs, made purely for headline grabbing, such as Goldvish's "Le million", worth a cool $1,000,000, see below for details!
1. Goldvish "Le million" = $1,000,000 (£540,540)

A PR stunt it may be, and they surely can't be expecting to sell any, but the Goldvish "Le million" is officially the most expensive mobile phone in the world, according the Guiness Books of Records. There's even been talk of a $1.3million phone, but this has fewer diamonds than the Goldvish so I can't see where the extra expense comes from! The "Le million" is a one off, featuring a blinding 120 carats worth of VVS-1 grade diamonds, according to designer Emmanuel Gueit. If $1 million is out of your price range. The Geneva-based Goldvish also offer several other diamond-encrusted 18k gold models in your choice of rose, yellow, or white, starting at a much more reasonable $25,600 (£13,837).
2. Vertu Signature Cobra = $310,000 (£167,567)

Vertu is now taking orders for the Signature Cobra, designed by French jeweler Boucheron, but you had better be quick as only 8 are being made! The Cobra will feature one pear-cut diamond, one round white diamond, two emerald eyes and 439 rubies. Vertu will also be offering a "cheaper" version, ruby free, at $115,000 (£62,162).
3. Sony Ericsson Black Diamond = $300,000 (£162,162)

Apparently the Black Diamond will be available in 2007, not from Sony Ericsson but by a company called VIPN. Initially only 5 unique numered pieces will be available for the unbelievable price of, wait for it... $300,000.
With regards to the specifications, don't expect anything remarkable for your money. It will have Quad-band with Wi-If, an Intel 400Mhz processor running windows mobile 5, and a touch sensitive 2? Screen. It will also include internal memory of 128mb and will come with a 2Gb SD card for external storage, plus a respectable 4 Megapixel camera.
The designer Jaren Goh has used some pretty impressive materials for the build, featuring titane with polycarbonate , mirror-finish cladding and diamonds.
4. Vertu Diamond = $88,000 (£47,567)

The Diamond is Vertu's premium range of high-end mobile phones. As the name suggests the handsets in the Diamond range are diamond-encrusted handsets made from platinum. Only 200 of the handsets are being produced, the most expensive believed to be worth an estimated £50,000.
5. Motorola V220 Special Edition = £28,000 ($51,800)

6. Gold Edition Nokia 8800 Phone = $2,700 (£1,459)

If you have $2,700 to spare, you can now buy the Nokia 8800 in 24K gold. However, be warned, if you think you'll be getting a better phone for your extra cash, you wont! The features found on the Gold Edition are the standard 8800 features, which are pretty basic. It includes a 0.5 Mega pixel SVGA camera, 64 MB of internal memory, 64 voice polyphonic rigntones, FM Radio, Mp3 Player, video recording and 180 mins talktime. However, the Gold Edition does includes a special edition box and charging dock!
7. Mobiado Professional EM (wood) = $1,900 (£1,027)

The Mobiado Professional EM, is a wood-clad upgrade of their earlier Nokia-based phone that includes a 1.3 megapixel camera, music player, FM radio, Bluetooth, and according to Mobiado it's the first production phone with Titanium buttons. Only 200 are being made and each one has its limited number engraved on the back. At $1,900 however, you're still paying an awfully high premium for a fairly basic phone encased in wood!
8. Bang & Olufsen (Samsung) Serene = $1,250 (£675)

Bang & Olufsen hooked up with Samsung to design the sleek but unconventional Serene. Its not a bad looking phone and it even has a built-in motor to assist you in opening and closing the phone. It's not very practical however, requiring a special screwdriver to access the battery and the SIM card, and its circular keypad will take some getting used to. Also, for some strange reason they have positioned the camera lens on the side of the device, which will make it difficult to align snapshots via the viewfinder on the display.
9. Lamborghini 8800 Sirocco from Nokia = $To be announced

The Lamborghini Nokia 8800 Sirocco is another special edition, like the previously launch Aston Martin branded Sirocco. It will ultimately be a standard 8800 Sirocco but with the addition of the famous Lamborghini logo engraved on the font and the back, plus ball bearings from the auto company to in the slider phone mechanism. The Lamborghini phone will be a limited edition with only 500 being made. It will also feature Lamborghini graphics as wallpapers, screensavers, ringtones, and even has a short documentary video about the Lamborghini.
10. Gresso Luxury Phone = £expensive

What is a Seeder, Leacher, and a torrent file?
What is a seeder?
A seed(er) is a client on the BT network that has a complete copy of a particular archive. For any archive to work, there must be at least one seed to download from originally. Sometimes under certain circumstances, there may be no one seeder but enough people with all the parts to make up the whole archive, this is called a distributed copy. It is HIGHLY recommended that once you have gotten an archive you leave the BT client running for at least the amount of time that it took you to download the archive to help ensure that others will also be able to get it. Share and Share alike!
What is a leecher?
A leech(er) is a client on the BT network that does not have a complete copy of a particular archive yet. When any new client begins downloading an archive, they are a leecher until they have finished downloading the entire archive and then become a seeder. The name 'leecher' here is an unfortunate use that has become too commonly used even though it is really not applicable to what the meaning is. A leecher normally means someone who downloads without uploading (takes but does not give.) But here, a leecher is part of the network and is uploading as well, many times more KB than they download. But hey, it's worth the new meaning once you appreciate the vast resources that BT brings to you.
What is a .torrent file?
To download something with BitTorrent, you must have a .torrent file. This file contains in it a location that tells the BitTorrent client where to go to find the tracker that manages the uploading and downloading of the archive. An archive is a complete set for downloading which may include one file or many files. The one .torrent file contains the archive information also. To download on this network it is simply a matter of clicking on the .torrent file in your web browser, then the BitTorrent client kicks in and asks where you'd like to save the archive. That's it, from there you just sit back and watch the client work it's magic.

The New IPhone
The maker of the popular iPod portable music player has made a cellphone that plays music and has a touch screen instead of the multiple buttons used on other mobile devices.
The new phone, to be called iPhone, will run on Apple's operating system, Apple CEO and chairman Steve Jobs said Tuesday as he unveiled the phone in a speech that opened MacWorld, Apple's annual conference and product show in San Francisco.
Many speculations have been floating around about what the result of the lawsuit will be, one of which is that both companies will be able to use the somewhat generic term “iPhone” in conjunction with their respective products, branding one the “Apple iPhone”, and the other the “Cisco iPhone” or “Linksys iPhone”.
A dual ownership would be a good potential outcome for Apple according to Bruce Sunstein, co-founder of the Boston law firm Bromberg & Sunstein via News.com. “Cisco holds a clear advantage in the legal dispute as the trademark holder of record and having already released products using the iPhone name” said Sunstein. “The one who has a registration is in a better position than the one who does not. Apple’s only choice is to argue that its ‘iFamily’ of trademarks such as iPod, iTunes and iMac create confusion in a customer’s mind as to who makes the iPhone”.
Who will win the law suit? Apple or Cisco? We'll just have to wait and see.

DontDateHimGirl.com

DontDateHimGirl.com was a buzz last year when it launched. it's a free searchable database of men accused of infidelity by their ex-lovers, wives and girlfriends. Critics warned it was only a matter of time until the South Florida-based website made famous for dishing up tales of deceit was itself served with a lawsuit.
This prediction has come true. Nearly A year after it was established, Tasha Joseph who founded the site was suited by a Pennsylvania man. He claimed defamation by Joseph and four women who posted disparaging comments about him in the online forum. Pittsburgh's lawyer Todd Hollis filed a complaint after anonymous postings appeared on the website accusing him of passing on a sexually transmitted disease, bisexuality and dating multiple women while claiming fidelity -- accusations he said are untrue and damaging to his reputation.
Although maybe testimonials are sometimes true and real but it doesn't give us a 100% guaranty that it's true. People can just post stuffs. It could all be crap too, ex girlfriends who don't want to give up on a man so they try and give him a bad rep. Or just evil women who want to destroy a man's life because he wasn't intersted in them.

Never Lick An Envelope!
A woman was working in a post office in California.
One day she licked the envelopes and postage stamps instead of using a
sponge.
That very day the lady found a cut on her tongue.
A week later, she noticed an abnormal swelling of her tongue.
She went to the doctor and they found nothing wrong.
Her tongue was not sore or anything.
A couple of days later, her tongue started to swell more, and it began
to get really sore, so sore, that she could not eat.
She went back to the hospital, and demanded something be done.
The doctor took an x-ray of her tongue and noticed a lump.
He prepared her for minor surgery.
When the doctor cut her tongue open, a live cockroach crawled out!!!!
There were cockroach eggs on the seal of the envelope.
The egg was able to hatch inside of her tongue, because of her saliva.
It was warm and moist...
This is a true story reported on CNN

I used to work for a print shop(32 years ago) and we were told NEVER to
lick the envelopes.
I never understood why until I had to go into storage and pull out 2500
envelopes that were already printed and saw several squads of
cockroaches roaming around inside a couple of boxes with eggs
everywhere.
They eat the glue on the envelopes.
So do you wanna lick another envelope or stamp again?

Princess's Death: The Myths Are Shattered
THE long-awaited report into the death of Princess Diana will systematically demolish every conspiracy theory surrounding it.
The 400-page report takes apart the claim by Mohammed Fayed, whose son Dodi also died in the crash, that the British secret service killed her because she was pregnant with Dodi's child.
Henri Paul, the chauffeur, while not "blind drunk", was more than three times over the French drink-drive limit, had traces of tranquillisers in his body, and was driving at up to 160kmh before the crash.
The investigators came to the following conclusions about Mr Fayed's theories about the death of Princess Diana and his son:
The murder plot:
The two secret servicemen alleged to have been involved were interviewed, and were not in Paris at the time. The car and Paul were last-minute substitutes to try to trick pursuing photographers. The route was random.
Diana was pregnant with Dodi's child:
Forensic tests taken on droplets of her blood in the car were found not to have the hormone levels of a pregnant woman.
Henri Paul's blood was switched in the laboratory:
New samples of his blood were taken by the inquiry, and compared with his parents' DNA, which confirmed a match.
The couple were secretly engaged:
Investigators put together the couple's final hours, talked to jewellers, Dodi's friends and a relative who spoke to him on the night of the crash who said Dodi was only thinking of proposing.
Did a white Fiat car in the underpass at the same time cause the crash?
Unexplained white paint was found on the wreck of the Mercedes, but an exhaustive database search of 112,000 Fiats never found the elusive car.
The report concludes that it was an accident caused by Henri Paul, who was drunk and driving too fast when he lost control.
The result of the two-year Operation Paget investigation by Lord Stevens, the former Metropolitan Police commissioner, which will be published on Thursday, is a rebuff to Mr Fayed.
Police used advanced computer technology to reconstruct the crash scene and examined the Mercedes in painstaking detail.
Rosa Monckton, the princess's closest friend, told the inquiry that when they were on holiday together only 10 days before the crash, Diana's period had started.
Mr Fayed's claim he had been told Diana's final words by a nurse at the hospital where she died is also undermined by the statement to the inquiry from the hospital that the princess never regained consciousness.
An unrepentant Mr Fayed, the owner of the London department store Harrods, will challenge the findings, as the only comfort he can draw is that the report does not hold Henri Paul, his employee, solely to blame.
While the French investigators made light of the role of the pursuing paparazzi, Lord Stevens maintains that the deadly chase with the photographers was a contributory factor.
Prince Charles, Prince William and Prince Harry have been distressed by the repeated public claims of Mr Fayed that the royal family was behind her death.
The report makes clear that any hired assassins would have had to know the details of the couple's movements, but the car she died in was a last-minute substitute to trick photographers, and the route was random.
The report will be examined by Lady Elizabeth Butler-Sloss, a former senior judge, before she begins an inquest next month into the deaths of Princess Diana and Dodi Fayed.
