Craig with Aston Martin in 007

A new actor is playing James Bond in the forthcoming Casino Royale movie, but one thing still remains the same. Actor Daniel Craig takes over the role from Pierce Brosnan but he'll still be driving an Aston Martin.

Despite the character's brief flings with Lotuses and BMWs along the way, the Aston remains the quintessential Bondmobile.

Aston Martin DBS will be Bond’s new car

Aston Martin has announced that James Bond, the legendary British secret agent, will drive one of its models in the next 007 film, ‘Casino Royale’.

In the true tradition of Bond, full details of the car to be used are `top secret’ but the company did confirm that it will be a new model called the Aston Martin DBS. The company has disclosed the sketch of the model.

Bond’s next car

The interesting part is that Bond could be driving Aston's next model, which, will be called the DBS.

Aston CEO Ulrich Bez issued the teaser: "We have built him something special to enable him to do his job in style." Bez recently led actor Craig on a tour of the Aston factory.

Craig on a drive

Daniel Craig, who will play James Bond in the film, visited the Aston Martin headquarters in Warwickshire to check out the said car and while there, he met the chairman and chief executive officer, Dr Ulrich Bez, and members of the workforce and also took the opportunity to take a short test drive.

Car revealed at the fair

Corgi has unveiled their latest James Bond car models at the London Toy Fair this week - and the new Aston Martin DBS for Casino Royale is included!

The car will cost £11.99 Great Britain Pound and will be available in October 2006 in anticipation of Casino Royale opening in theatres.

007 and Aston bonding

Aston Martin has signed a deal with Eon Productions to ensure that Bond stays with the marque in Casino Royale. The association with the marque began in 1964 with the film ‘Goldfinger’ when the DB5 was fitted with ‘optional extras’ such as ejector seats and rockets.

The last Bond film, ‘Die Another Day’, featured Aston Martin’s flagship model, the Vanquish.
